Who's Hanala?
Hanala Stadner is an inspiration to baby boomers everywhere. Her inspiring message to her Hollywood celebrity clients and the rest of us: you can be fabulous at 50 - regardless of your past.
Known for being one of Los Angeles’ toughest fitness instructors, author, actress, artist and celebrity substance-abuse counselor, Hanala Stadner hopes her dysfunction-to-diva life story will inspire others facing circumstances seemingly beyond their control.
As she tells it in her critically acclaimed memoir, My Parents Went Through The Holocaust and All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt, Hanala was not always so fabulous. Growing up with deeply traumatized Holocaust-surviving parents manifested into years of debilitating guilt and insecurity resulting in panic attacks which resricted her life. She sought refuge in drugs, alcohol and men while battling dangerous eating disorders.
After a lifetime of clinical depression and self-destructive behavior, Hanala sought help through 12-Step Programs, psychotherapy, and fitness, resulting in rock-hard thighs and a desire to help others. Now, 25 years sober, she remains a popular Los Angeles spin instructor, TV personality, writer, and is regularly called upon to share her transformative story with her trademark wit and wisdom.
Hanala is a member of The National Association of Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselors and has provided private counseling for well-known entertainment figures. She has been a CBS Home Show fitness expert, and has appeared on The CBS Early Show, Dateline, Leeza, Extra, E!, A&E, numerous videos and countless radio shows. Hanala has become a popular motivational speaker specializing in self-esteem, relationship, and stress management. She combinines her experience with psychotherapy, the 12-Steps, good common sense and her unique brand of humor.
Hanala has captured audiences at The Los Angeles Holocaust Museum, The Florida Holocaust Museum, The Baltimore Jewish Museum, to colleges, Temples, Churches, as well as Barnes & Noble, Borders, Independent Bookstores, Drug Rehabs, Corporations and private events. She enjoys entertaining and enlightening young and old, Jews and non-Jews, men and women, with her frank, fascinating, always funny message.
